The Lawrence County Sheriff's Department in Ohio released the name of a man who fatally shot himself during a standoff with police. Roger W. Crisp, 44, of Waterloo died in Ironton on Sunday after a police standoff. The sheriff's department responded to a domestic violence situation on County Road 181 in Ironton, according to a news release from the sheriff's department. Police said Crisp had been arguing with his relative for several days when he traveled to her home and fired shots. When law enforcement arrived, Crisp allegedly fired two more shots at the home and then began firing toward police, the release said. The suspect would not respond to police and turned the gun on himself and fired two shots, the release said. Crisp was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said bullets were found lodged in the home in the wall, a police cruiser and another vehicle. A police standoff in Ironton, Ohio has ended with the suspect dead. According to a press release from the Lawrence County Sheriff's Office, deputies got a call about a domestic dispute in the 2700 block of County Road 181 shortly after 3 p.m. Sunday. The caller told police that a man in a pickup truck was driving by his house firing shots from a gun. Deputies and officers with Ironton Police Department, the Ohio Highway Patrol, the Coal Grove Police Department and the South Point Police Department responded to the call. A Coal Grove officer spotted the pickup and attempted to stop the man. Investigators say the man eventually pulled over in the victim's driveway and fired two more shots at his house with a handgun. He then allegedly picked up a high powered riffle and shot at the officer three times. We are told one of those bullets hit the cruiser. Investigators say the suspect then got back into his pickup truck and killed himself. The suspect's name has not been released. At this time, a motive for the shooting has not been released.
