SHOOTING INVESTIGATION Woman Found Shot Along Road; Police Search For Two Suspects

Huntington Police held a press conference Monday afternoon regarding the shooting of a 17 year old girl over the weekend. Lt. John Williams tells Eyewitness news the girl was shot three times in the upper body.
Williams says the teenager is lucky to be alive. Williams says the shooting was drug related and the girl had a gun on her, but it was never used in the shooting. The teen is still recovering in a Huntington hospital.
Williams says after the shooting the suspects fled east on Jefferson Avenue and they haven't been seen since Saturday night. Police say they do believe someone in the neighborhood has information they can use and they're determined to get it. Williams said, "We're actively questioning people now. Information is going to come to light as we get it. As you know, it takes a while to get records and stuff back. Once we have information we'll be visiting these people. It's better they come to us and say we know what happened, instead of us rolling up and doing the inevitable anyway."
Huntington Police are searching for a gunman after a woman was found shot, along a road in Huntington.
Cabell County dispatchers say someone found her shortly before 10 p.m. Saturday in the area of West 19th St. and Jefferson Avenue.
She was rushed to the hospital with unknown injuries. Police are currently combing the area searching for the shooter.
