A boil water advisory was issued by West Virginia American Water for 50 residential customers in Huntington along 12th Avenue, from 18th to 20th streets, following a break in a water main.
Customers affected by the advisory should boil water before consumption. Boiling kills bacteria and other organisms that may be present in the water.
Water used for drinking, cooking, bathing, showering and brushing teeth should be brought to a full boil for a minimum of one minute, then cooled before use.
Crews have completed repairs on the break in the water main. The boil water advisory is in effect until further notice.
