The Union Mission in Charleston has seen a steady flow of people coming in for warmth and winter supplies during the bitter cold.
The mission, located on South Park Road in Charleston, provides everything from food to clothing to anyone who asks.
Rex Whiteman, the charity's president, said that the winter months are especially hard on people in need.
"As the weather plummets, the need of others arise and sometimes we don't think about that... we are in our homes of comfort and just turn up a thermostat," Whiteman said. "Some people don't have that convenience."
