A town-hall meeting was held Thursday night for people living in portions of Mason County which had their water supply contaminated with a toxic chemical, according to a scientific study.
A 7-year long study found C8, the material used in Teflon was released by Dupont in Wood County which affected the water supply in Mason County.
Dozens of people gathered at the library in Point Pleasant Thursday night to listen to Charleston area attorney Kathy Brown to figure out if they have a claim in the law suit.
John Turnbull, is a Mason County resident with Thyroid Disease. He said he drank contaminated water for more than 12 years.
"We might get to be compensated for medicine and doctor visits," Turnbull said. "I think maybe we deserve it."
