Police said the deaths of a Berkeley County man and his 9-year-old son are being investigated as a double homicide.
Police initially believed David Cole Hutzler, 56, killed his son, James Hutzler, 9, set their mobile home on fire and then killed himself. Their bodies were found after the fire on Jan. 6 in the rear bedroom of the mobile home near Glengary. Both had been shot.
State Police Senior Trooper C.S. Maynard tells media outlets that new physical evidence indicates both deaths were homicides. He would not provide details.
A $1,000 reward for information leading to an arrest is being offered through Crime Solvers.
