An off-duty Kentucky State Police trooper was killed Tuesday in a two-vehicle collision.
Trooper Anson Blake Tribby, 25, of Mount Sterling was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident that occurred about 7:30 p.m. in Clark County on Interstate 64 East near mile marker 99, according to a news release from State Police. State Police said Tribby was driving his own pickup truck when he was involved with a flatbed wrecker operated by John Masterson, 54, of Winchester, Ky.
Tribby was a 2 1/2-year veteran with the Kentucky State Police and was assigned to the Morehead Post.
State Police were assisted by the Clark County Sheriff’s Office, coroner, fire and rescue and the Kentucky Incident Management Team.
The collision remains under investigation by State Police.
