If you already have your personal income tax forms, you might as well as forget about filing them until next week.
The IRS has announced the 2013 filing season will be delayed and that the agency will not start processing individual returns until Jan. 30.
The problem comes after the feds made changes, with all the new tax increases at the beginning of the month. A late date to file, means you will get your refund later that usual.
"So it's changed all of the tax returns and the forms are going to be different. So, what's happened is the IRS has to prepare the new forms," said Frank Frashier of U.S. Tax & Financial Group.
"It has to set the format up and get them out to all of the tax software companies and the other companies so they can get everything taken care of," Frashier said.
Some taxpayers canl expect to wait even longer. Those claiming a special tax exemption or special tax credits will not be able to file with the IRS until March.
