A Floyd County, Ky., man has been charged with murder after police investigated a death of a Knott County man.
Jerry B. Combs, 34, of Wayland was charged with murder Saturday. At about 10 a.m. Friday, Kentucky State Police found an abandoned truck in the Triplett Branch community of Knott County, according to a news release from the State Police. The truck was related to a missing person case, the news release said.
Troopers said they searched the area and found the body of Eric T. Fugate, 30, of Hindman, who was reported missing less than 24 hours earlier. The cause of his death has not been released. Troopers believe there was a fight between the two men that resulted in Fugate's death. Combs is being held at the Kentucky River Regional Jail.
