Kentucky State Police charged two people in Carter County with operating a meth lab.
Randal R. Lucas, 23, of Olive Hill was charged with manufacturing meth, possession of a controlled substance, wanton endangerment of a police officer, giving false information and possession of drug paraphernalia. Virginia Spears, 32, of Olive Hill was charged with manufacturing meth, possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to notify an address change.
On Saturday, troopers in Ashland received a tip of a meth lab on Laurel Lane in Olive Hill, according to a news release from the State Police. Troopers said they searched the home and found the male suspect hiding under a bed. The suspect allegedly gave troopers incorrect information to try and conceal his identity, the release said. While being patted down, troopers said. the suspect didn't tell them he had needles in his pocket when asked if he had anything concealed on him. Troopers said they discovered meth, a meth lab, and drug paraphernalia inside the home.
Lucas also is facing four counts on a court bench warrant.
