Police said a Charleston man was arrested Friday afternoon after he allegedly said he had a bomb under his foot when he was talking to a FedEx driver.
John Workman, 41, was arrested following an incident at Kanawha Village Apartments. Police said a neighbor heard the suspect make the comment and called the apartment manager who found Workman in the stairway. Workman then allegedly told the manager not to open the door because the bomb would go off, police said.
The manager called 911, and Workman was arrested. A canine dog searched the building but nothing was found.
Charleston police arrested a man who allegedly made threats at the Kanawha Village Apartments that he had a bomb in his shoe.
John Workman, 41, of 3907 Venable Ave., Apt. 302, Charleston, will be charged with making terroristic threats after an incident that occurred about 1 p.m., Lt. C.E. Sisson of the Charleston Police Department said.
Sisson said after the suspect made the threats someone from the apartment complex contacted police, and as officers were getting into position he walked away. Workman lives in an apartment building at the back of the complex. He was arrested on 39th Street at the 7-Eleven.
Workman was scheduled to be arraigned in Kanawha County Magistrate Court.
