Kentucky State Police are alerting motorists about traffic delays as crews work to repair a section of road that has fallen away.
Troopers said that between the zero and 1 mile marker as you enter Martin County from Johnson County on Route 40, about 100 feet of roadway has fallen away, according to a news release from the State Police.
Traffic has been reduced to one lane and a traffic signal has been installed as the Department of Transportation works to repair the road. The department expects the road to close periodically, but the repairs should be completed Jan. 25. State Police are asking drivers to use caution when traveling in the area.
