Members of the U.S. Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force have arrested a fourth person on charges in connection with an armed robbery that hospitalized a man for five days with head injuries. Elvis Leo Russell Jr., 34, was located Thursday and taken into custody at a St. Albans residence. He was arraigned in Kanawha County Magistrate Court where his bond was set at $200,000. Russell is charged with two counts of first-degree robbery and two counts of first-degree conspiracy to commit robbery. Meanwhile, there were developments in Putnam County Magistrate Court regarding another of the suspects charged in the robbery. Stephanie Bea Horn, 22, of Scott Depot waived her preliminary hearing Thursday. Her bond was reduced from $200,000 to $50,000. A preliminary hearing for suspect Janel Salmons is set for Friday in Putnam County Magistrate Court. Three people have been arrested after Putnam County detectives said they were part of an armed robbery that hospitalized a man for five days with head injuries. Lewis Benson Day, 27, of Hurricane and Stephanie Bea Horn, 22, of Scott Depot are charged with first-degree robbery and conspiracy to commit first-degree robbery. Janel Salmons was also arrested Thursday evening after detectives said the the trio, along with another man, robbed a couple at gunpoint on Dec. 9, 2012, along Fletcher Road in Putnam County. Criminal complaints filed in Putnam County Magistrate Court said the incident occurred after the two victims, Holly Price and Kevin McCallister, were given a ride by Horn and one of the other suspects with plans to go to a bar. At one point during the trip, one of the suspects said to stop the car to take a bathroom break. The complaint said the suspect returned with two other people, including Day. Deputies said the suspects went through the victims' purse and pockets and Day beat McCallister with his fist. The complaint said the suspects then told Price and McCallister to walk into the woods and not stop until they were told to do so. The four suspects jumped back in the car and left the scene. Price had a cell phone, and she called a friend who transported the victims to the hospital, where McCallister was treated for five days for head injuries. Deputies said Price apparently knows everyone involved in the incident from past friendships. Detectives have arrested three of the four suspects and are still searching for another man.
