MONEY DUE BACK Kanawha County Employees Feel Sticker Shock When They Receive Paychecks

Kanawha County employees were feeling a little sticker shock after they took a look at their recent paychecks.
County Clerk Vera McCormick said a little more money than usual was taken out of the paychecks for federal taxes but they caught the error.
The tax table used for the first pay period of the year was replaced with a new table right after the checks were given out.
The new tax table will bring the federal taxes down a little bit meaning employees are due money back.
McCormick said the average amount of money owed is about $15 to $50.
And employees will either get the money back in the next check or in a refund at the end of the year.
