A Lawrence County, Ohio commissioner is facing domestic violence charges after an alleged fight with his wife.
Lawrence County sheriff's deputies say they responded to a call at commissioner Les Boggs' home on Hog Run Road Monday afternoon.
When they got on scene, Boggs' wife reportedly told them she walked in front of her husband while he was playing a video game and he asked her to move. Things reportedly escalated from there, and she said he grabbed and pulled the back of her hair, took her cell phone and left the home.
He returned home when deputies were there and was arrested. He bonded out shortly after getting booked at the Lawrence County jail. He's charged with domestic violence and disrupting public service. Sheriff Jeff Lawless said, "It's certainly a sad situation, but again, the law is the law, and no matter who you are we're all bound by that."
The report said a divorce between the couple is pending.
Boggs is expected in Municipal Court later this week. He couldn't be reached for comment.
