A Wyoming County paramedic died Tuesday after an early morning accident.
Mark Anthony Kinder, 26, of Beckley was the passenger in a Jan-Care ambulance that had just taken a patient to a hospital and was on the way back to Wyoming County.
The crash happened about 5 a.m. near the South Weston exit of Interstate 79 when the ambulance collided with a tractor-trailer, according to a news release from the Lewis County Sheriff's Office. No patient was onboard the ambulance at the time of the accident.
Kinder was taken to Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital where he later died. The driver of the tractor-trailer and the ambulance were not seriously injured.
