A man was sentenced to serve time in federal prison for dumping truckloads of raw sewage several times onto properties in Mason County.
Frank Zuspan, 61, of Mason County pleaded guilty September 2012 to dumping a pollutant into waters without a permit, according to a news release from U.S. Attorney Booth Goodwin. Zuspan admitted to dumping a 2,400-gallon sewage-hauling truck on to properties in Mason County between November 2010 and February 2011, the release said. Zuspan admitted that the sewage was dumped into water sources including a lake and a stream watershed that lead to the Ohio River.
Zuspan was sentenced to a year and a half in federal prison on Tuesday in Huntington. The Environmental Protection Agency conducted the investigation.
