Thousands of students went back to class at Marshall University on Monday.
Classes for the spring semester started at the Huntington university with about 14,000 students enrolled.
In the past year, the School of Physical Therapy and the School of Pharmacy have welcomed their first students.
Many students are returning back from the winter break, but for others, it's their first day on campus.
"I've wanted to go here since my senior year of high school and finally this semester I was like, 'OK, I'm going.' It was a little nerve-racking at first -- moving in, but once I walked to my first class I was like, 'OK, I can do this. I wasn't as nervous anymore," student Rebekah Dickinson said.
The university also opened a new parking facility along Sixth Avenue this school year.
