Three people are facing drug charges after police say they discovered dozens of pills during a traffic stop in Wayne County.
Daniel L. Maxwell, 31, Amanda C. Ross, 25, both of Huntington, and Chanity M. Hartman, 33, of Wayne were arrested on Sunday. A deputy with the Wayne County Sheriff's Department pulled over a vehicle after it allegedly swerved on the road and police were tipped off that it may be transporting pills, according to a criminal complaint from Wayne County Magistrate Court.
Deputies along with troopers with the State Police initially found nothing, but pills were later discovered underneath the car, the complaint said. Police searched the car again and said they found more than 100 pills stashed behind the headlight of the car, the complaint said. Police believe one of the women suspects was hiding some pills in their genitals.
Maxwell, Ross and Hartman were each charged with six counts of possession with the intent to deliver. They were being held at the Western Regional Jail.
