A man from Ohio was sentenced after pleading guilty to three separate crimes.
Jason A. Johnson, 30, of Albany was sentenced Thursday to 15 years in prison. Johnson plead guilty in the Athens Common Pleas Court to two counts of trafficking heroin, aggravated robbery in a separate incident, and tampering with evidence and aggravated robbery in a third incident.
In March 2012, Johnson sold heroin twice, according to a news release from Athens County Prosecutor Keller Blackburn. In September 2012, Johnson robbed the Citizen's Bank in Nelsonville with a gun then burned evidence connected to the robbery, the release said. In October 2012, Johnson robbed Jewel's Drive Thru Carryout in Glouster with a gun.
The crimes were investigated by the Glouster Police Department, Nelsonville Police Department, Hocking County Sheriff’s Office, FBI and the Athens County Prosecutor’s Office.
