A complex burglary investigation in which a fallen war hero's medals were stolen continues to unfold in Kanawha County.
Four suspect have now been arrested in the investigation into a series of burglaries at a home on Spencer Road in Clendenin.
Alesha Goodwin, 27, of Saint Albans was arrested on Wednesday and charged with burglary.
Deputies say that when Marty Atwell, her boyfriend, was arrested for the same crime on Tuesday, he told investigators that she had accompanied him to the residence in the middle part of December. Atwell said they only "looked around," but did not remove anything.
He said that on New Years Eve, they returned to the home, and placed numerous items into a large duffel bag and removed them.
Atwell said that while he and Goodwin were walking away from the home, they encountered a white truck coming up to the road. Atwell and Goodwin then apparently fled on foot and went back to their car, which was parked at the Clendenin Park and Ride. Atwell told deputies he left the duffel bag lying beside the driveway to the home.
Deputies say they seized some of the stolen items from the couple's home on Arena Lane.
Deputies have previously said this home was the target of at least four burglaries and the victim's late daughter's Purple Heart and Bronze Star medal were among some of the items stolen. The victim's daughter was 23-year-old and serving in Iraq when she was killed.
Billy Woods Junior and Paulette Dickey were arrested last week for allegedly burglarizing the same home.
Deputies say anyone with information on the case can call them anonymously at 304-357-0169.
