Some students in Jackson County will be going to school in church, but only for a few days.
There is a gas line problem at Ravenswood Grade School that's affecting the heat in the school. As a result, the community stepped up and the students will be attending class in three different churches. Third-graders will be relocated to First Baptist Church, fourth-graders will go to Calvary Baptist and fifth-graders to Praise Cathedral.
Superintendent Blainie Hess said the gas line at the school is much smaller than the one in Sissonviille that exploded and that the problem with the line isn't dangerous; the only result is that the building will be without heat.
Crews hope to have the line repaired over the next few days. Hess said the churches are not a typical school zone and parents should use extreme caution when dropping off and picking up children.
