A West Virginia woman has won a quarter of a million dollars.
Jennifer Feury of Marlinton won the cash playing Mega Millions, according to a news release from West Virginia Lottery Director John Musgrave.
She matched five numbers from the Mega Millions drawing on Jan. 4.
Feury, who works as a cook at a Marlinton eatery, purchased the wining ticket at the Fast Break on Route 219 North in Marlinton.
“Truthfully, it feels like it is not real,” Feury said. “When I found out, I was about to have a heart attack.”
Feury said she recently started playing the lottery and has played Mega Millions almost exclusively. She found out she had a big winner when she stopped for gas after leaving work on Saturday.
“I had no idea that I had won. I brought the ticket in to be scanned and the cashier told me it was a prize of more than $600 and congratulations,” Feury said. “I checked it and went home to tell my husband.”
Feury, has two children, ages 9 and 6. She said the very first thing she plans to do is buy a new couch. She also wants to use the money to pay some bills and move to the country.
