About 250 children in one Raleigh County community will soon have a new school to attend.
On Friday, parents and students of Marsh Fork Elementary took a tour of the new Marsh Fork Elementary School.
The new school offers students cutting-edge technology, school leaders said.
Individual classrooms are equipped with smart boards and presentation stations. The school also features a computer lab with one of the fastest computer networks in the area.
Massey Energy gave the Raleigh County Board of Education $1.5 million to help pay for the new Marsh Fork Elementary, which is located in Dry Creek, a few miles from the former school.
The old school had been the center of controversy because of the location near one of the company's coal preparation plants.
Students will begin classes at the new school Monday.
