The West Virginia Delegation was split along party lines in regards to the fiscal cliff vote.
Republican Representative Shelley Moore Capito and David McKinley voted against the deal. While Democrat Congressman Nick Rahall and Senators Manchin and Rockefeller voted for the measure.
Republicans claim the final deal did not do enough to reign in government spending.
Senator Manchin said the high stakes legislation is only a temporary fix to solving the nation's long term debt crisis. Meanwhile, Manchin was sworn in today along with other new members into the 113th Congress. An historic 20 female senators were sworn in as well.
