Cabell County has a new assessor. Irv Johnson was sworn into office Wednesday morning in Huntington.
Johnson took the oath at the Cabell County Courthouse. He is replacing long-time assessor Ottie Adkins and said he is ready to tackle his new job and make some improvements.
"There's lots of technology to help taxpayers, things we can do online and put forms online," Johnson said. "If we can help citizens to not have to come to the courthouse, that's a good thing."
There will be a public swearing in for all of the new officials Thursday evening at the Keith Albee on Fourth Avenue in Huntington.
