Metro 911 was reporting hazardous driving conditions for the Monday morning commute because of black ice.
Emergency responders said a man driving a Chevy truck slipped on black ice near Institute on Interstate 64 about 5:45 a.m., Monday. The truck ended up on its top, and the man had to be cut out of the vehicle.
Meanwhile, a vehicle flipped over on Interstate 77 north about 8:20 a.m. Monday. Shalayna Holbrook, 22, of Cabin Creek was able to walk away uninjured from the wreck. The accident happened near the Chelyan exit, about one-half mile north of the tollbooth. The accident was believed to be weather related.
