A 49-year old telecommunications worker from Ohio was killed after being hit by a car while working along a western New York road, according to police.
State police said two CTS Telecommunications employees based out of Cincinnati were working outside of a parked utility truck on a road in the Chautaugua County area of Westfield, Wednesday afternoon.
Troopers say a 58-year old woman driving a car hit the two men. Police say Billy J. Johnson of Crown City, Ohio was thrown into the utility truck's bucket which had been lowered to about a foot off the ground. 26-year old Nathaniel Bailey of Glenwood, West Virginia was also hit.
Johnson was pronounced dead at the scene. Bailey was taken to a local hospital for treatment of internal injuries.
