Although record travel is predicted for the holidays, road traffic was light around West Virginia on Christmas Eve. Many travelers have already reached their destinations.
Turnpike officials are expect heavy traffic again starting about 10 a.m. Wednesday.
AAA predicts more than 84 million Americans are headed for a road trip over the Xmas and New year's holidays. They also predict overall travel will be at its highest level in six years.
