Fayette County deputies are looking for two men who they say broke into an 84-year-old man's home, wrestled him to the ground and then took off with his wallet.
Deputies say it happened around 8pm Saturday in Wriston.
The homeowner told police one of the men knocked on his door and said his car had broken down. When the homeowner opened the door; the man allegedly pulled a ski mask over his face and, along with another man, barged into the home.
The homeowner tried to defend himself with a handgun, but the robbers were able to pull him to the ground and get the gun away from him. The victim was then able to grab a metal flashlight and hit one of the robbers in the head several times.
The suspects took the victims wallet and ran away. The suspects had a black, plastic pellet gun, which they dropped at the scene.
The victim suffered minor injuries in the attack, but refused medical treatment.
This is the second home invasion in the area in the past 24 hours. Deputies are unsure if the crimes are related, but are asking people to be cautious and not open the door for strangers.
