Police have arrested two men they believe are behind a rash of vehicle break-ins in Kanawha County. Charleston police arrested Brian Reed and Mark Crooks. The two are suspects in vehicle break-ins in the Gettysburg Road area of Charleston, police said. But Kanawha County sheriff's deputies also have reason to believe they are behind vehicle break-ins in the Green and Terry Road areas. Eyewitness News is told that at least a half dozen cars were broken into overnight Thursday. More charges are pending in this incident. If you have any information on these break-ins, call the sheriff's office at 304-357-0169. Kanawha County sheriff's deputies are investigating at least half a dozen reports of thefts from vehicles in the Terry and Green roads area of Davis Creek. The thefts occurred overnight Wednesday and early Thursday morning in the areas, located just outside of the city limits of Charleston and South Charleston, according to a news release from the Kanawha Sheriff's Office. About 4:30 a.m. Thursday, employees of the Metro 911 center observed suspicious activity near the 911 complex in the area of Gettysburg Road, in the city of Charleston. The Metro employees observed suspects with flashlights in the area who appeared to hide when they believed they had been spotted. Acting quickly, the Metro employees notified the Charleston Police Department. Charleston police officers apprehended two male suspects and have charged them with thefts from vehicles in the Gettysburg area. The Charleston officers seized evidence believed to be stolen items from vehicles. Cpl. J.S. Cochran of the Kanawha County Sheriff's Office is currently working with the Charleston Police Department on the investigation. It is believed the same individuals committed the thefts in the Davis Creek area, and further charges are expected from the sheriff’s office. Anyone with information related to the thefts in these areas are encouraged to call the Charleston Police Department or the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office. MORE NEWS FROM EYEWITNESS NEWS
