Santa has paid an early visit to families in the Vienna area.
Media outlets report that a customer paid off 41 layaway contracts containing toys and gifts for children at the Kmart in Vienna on Wednesday. The total cost topped $8,600.
The customer told store employees that he wanted to make a difference. And, he hopes his donation will spur others to take similar actions.
Store manager Kyle Chester says the man wants to remain anonymous. Kyle says his gift brings back the true meaning of the Christmas season.
Erin Sims says the mysterious Santa's donation is the best Christmas present she could have. It paid off her layaway gifts for her three children.
