Volunteer firefighters cleared the scene after investigating the smell of natural gas in the Sissonville area Tuesday.
Firefighters tell Eyewitness News that there is no need for concern at this time. Additional reports of natural gas odor have been reported in the area since last week's explosion.
Columbia Gas still plans to restore service to the Sissonville area Wednesday.
Volunteer firefighters were responding to the Sissonville area for a report of the smell of natural gas Wednesday morning.
Dispatchers said firefighters responded to the area of Sissonville Middle School about 8:30 a.m.
On Dec. 11, a natural gas pipeline exploded in the area, causing a massive explosion. A handful of homes were leveled in the blast, but no injuries were reported.
Columbia Gas plans to restore service to the Sissonville area on Wednesday.
