Marshall University is receiving a $10,000 grant to support diversity efforts in its pharmacy program.
The Huntington school said the funding is from Walgreens' Diversity Donation program.
Half of the funding will be used for scholarships for underrepresented minority students and a student who embraces diversity and promotes inclusion initiatives on campus.
Officials said the grant funding also will be used to facilitate "pipeline" programs aimed at increasing the enrollment of diverse groups at the school of pharmacy.
The scholarships will be available for the 2013-2014 academic year.
