Dick's Sporting Goods is yanking certain semi-automatic rifles from its stores across the country.
And the company is removing all guns from the store closest to Newtown.
Dick's said its removing the guns out of respect for the families after last week's shooting at Sandy Hook. National reports said Adam Lanza, the shooter at the elementary school, tried to buy a gun from Dick's in the city of Danbury about 12 miles away.
But investigators still haven't determined if that is true. Dick's said based on its records, that no guns were sold to Lanza.
At this point, it's unclear how long the suspension on the sale of the guns will be in place.
