A Kanawha County man was arrested over the weekend after deputies said he had marijuana hidden inside his Rand home.
Michael Antonio Smith, 40, was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and violating his home confinement.
Deputy M. Hammack with the Home Confinement Section of the Kanawha Sheriff’s Office made a random visit to Smith's home along Raven Drive Saturday evening.
When he arrived at the residence, he said, he discovered the pot packaged and hidden in a bathroom drawer. The marijuana weighed about 6 ounces and had a street value of about $2,000, according to a news release from the Kanawha County Sheriff's Office. Deputies said they also found about $600 in cash at Smith's home.
Smith was taken to the South Central Regional Jail.
