A Roane County resident has been charged with malicious wounding in connection with a stabbing, a deputy said.
Robert Sheets, 37, of Walton turned himself in to the Roane County Sheriff's Department Wednesday, Sgt. Bo Williams said. Sheets is accused of stabbing Dakota Hart, 21, of Spencer six times with a knife about 6:30 p.m. Tuesday on Virgil Road in Roane County, Williams said. The area is near Clendenin in Kanawha County.
Williams said the two men had an argument that turned into a physical altercation. A dispatcher at the sheriff's department said Hart had surgery at Charleston Area Medical Center. A hospital spokeswoman said he was under evaluation.
Sheets was arraigned Wednesday afternoon and was transported to Central Regional Jail.
