A new high school in Boyd County, Kentucky, is set to open its doors Thursday.
The new Boyd County High School in Cannonsburg will officially open after a flag dedication ceremony at 5:30 p.m.
A student from Ponderosa Elementary will sing the national anthem and the Junior Navy ROTC will raise the first flag, presented to the school by the American Legion Post 93 from Kenova.
The building dedication begins at 6 p.m., with several speakers expected to present. High school students will give tours of the building after the ceremony.
