Two people have been detained in connection with a brutal home invasion in Clay County.
State Police say a man and a juvenile broke down the door of a house in Big Otter. They allegedly fired several shots and then beat the homeowner.
The victim, Randall Lambey says two brothers broke down the door to his home on Moore Fork Road in Ivydale in Clay County Saturday around midnight. Lambey says Shane Holbrook and Holbrook's seventeen year old brother threatened to kill him and his children.
State Police say Lambey was assaulted for more than six hours after the brothers tied him up and fired gunshots. Lambey was finally able to get help. Three hours later, the bothers, their mother, sister and a friend were pulled over near Liberty Square Shopping Center in Putnam County. Shane Holbrook was behind the wheel. Trooper C.M. Thornton said, "He was emotional, adrenaline was high because he was at gunpoint. After he calmed down he was cooperative."
The entire family was taken in for questioning, but only the brothers were arrested. Family members tell Eyewitness News Christina Kirkman, the mother was in a relationship with Lambey and she was actually in the home when her boys showed up. Kirman said, "It's my children, my heart is broken." Kirkman said Lambey hurt her several times and that her children were trying to save Lambey from hurting himself.
Lambey says he feared Kirkman's sons were going to take his life. Now, the brothers are facing serious charges for what police describe as a violent crime.
Shane Holbrook has been taken to the Western Regional Jail. Holbrooks brother is at the Tygart Morton Juvenile Detention Center in Kanawha County.
