A Whitesville man is behind bars accused of kidnapping a prostitute and holding her at gunpoint in Kanawha County.
According to a criminal complaint, 32-year-old Jeremy Peters picked up a woman on MacCorkle Avenue in South Charleston and agreed to take her back to her home in Charleston.
Once inside the truck, the woman allegedly told Peters she would have sex with him for $250. That's when Peters told her they would go to a hotel, but the woman said she wanted to go to her house. Court documents then say Peters pulled out a gun, locked his truck doors and then told the woman they were going to a hotel.
Police say the victim was able to get the gun from Peters and then jumped out of the moving vehicle. She was taken to CAMC with unknown injuries.
Peters is charged with kidnapping and wanton endangerment.
