An annual event that has people lining the streets of Charleston and a tradition that gets people in the holiday spirit is almost here. The Charleston Christmas Parade is set for Saturday.
The event is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. City officials said the parade lines up beginning at 9 a.m. on Court Street and Washington Street East.
Officials advise to keep road closures in mind. The parade route goes south on Court to Virginia Street then east on Virginia to Capitol – north on Capitol to Washington and crossing Washington Street, where units may disband or go back to the Court Street lineup area where the parade began.
Charleston Town Center once again will be judging the floats shortly after 9 a.m., so it is crucial that participants be on time for the lineup.
