A St. Albans woman is charged with child neglect creating risk of injury after Putnam County deputies say she was caught smoking marijuana while driving with her five-year-old son in the car.
According to published reports, deputies saw 33-year-old Abigail Wade swerving while driving on I-64 near Teays Valley on Monday. When a deputy pulled up beside her vehicle, he says he saw Wade smoking pot.
The deputy pulled Wade over and says he smelled marijuana. Wade allegedly told him she had been smoking a cigar, but eventually handed him the marijuana. Deputies also say she failed several field sobriety tests.
Wade is also charged with driving under the influence and possession of marijuana. She was arrested, but was released after posting a $10,000 bail.
