A man was hospitalized after being pulled from the Elk River Thursday morning.
Charleston police said the man went into the frigid water about midnight near the Spring Street Bridge.
They said an 18-year-old man managed to save the man from the water and bring him to safety. He was taken to the hospital and his condition was unavailable.
Police are still trying to figure out what happened, but the area where he went in the water is a popular area for the homeless.
