A coal mine shut down in Southern West Virginia has left dozens of miners jobless, right as the holiday season gets underway.
Workers at Argus Energy says they were called to a meeting and given a memo that says some of their operations in Wayne and Lincoln Counties are shutting because the company was unable to obtain more mining permits.
This affects about 30 workers and they say they were told about the layoffs two days before Thanksgiving.
Eyewitness News tried to contact Argus Energy for comment, but have not heard back as of Sunday evening.
