Some nationwide retail stores opened their doors to shoppers before Thanksgiving day was even over. Walmart, Target and Toys-R-Us decided to open on Thursday evening, giving shoppers more to time to cash in on some great bargains.
Employees said things went smooth, while shoppers said they enjoyed the earlier hours because it gave them more room to breathe in the store and cut back on hectic lines.
"Everybody wasn't opening at the same time so you could go to one and it was open," said shopper Jennifer Ribbeck. "And then another one would be open a few hours later. So it kind of staggered the crowdiness."
Only a few stores throughout Southridge opted to open Thanksgiving day. Some of the stores featured different deals at different hours.
