A Taser was used on a Boyd County, Ky., man after police say he fled and resisted arrest during a traffic stop.
Darrel R. Stewart, 23, of Ashland was arrested on Tuesday. Police initiated a traffic stop after they noticed the people inside not wearing their seat belts, a news release from the Kentucky State Police said. A passenger in the car gave police false information, the release said. Troopers discovered that the passenger had three active warrants for his arrest. As they tried to place the suspect under arrest, he allegedly fled and police used a Taser to subdue him.
Stewart was charged with fleeing from police, resisting arrest, giving false information and with three outstanding warrants.
