Charleston firefighters are on high alert after flames tore through a vacant West Side home again.
Investigators say the fire started in the basement of the home, located at 2609 7th Avenue, around 10:30 Saturday night. Nobody was hurt, but firefighters say the flames almost spread to other houses near the home.
Firefighters say the fire is arson and somebody has set the home on fire before. This just one of many suspicious fires on the West Side in the past few weeks.
Anybody with information on the fire should call the Arson Hotline at 1800-233-FIRE.
