An Ohio man is behind bars after being charged with the alleged rape of a 9-year-old girl.
Stephen Bush, 63, of Gallipolis, Ohio, was arrested Thursday, according to a news release from Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine. Bush was charged with one count of rape.
The alleged crime was believed to of taken place between August and September of this year. The suspect was said to be a trusted friend of the victim's family, DeWine said in the release.
The Bureau of Criminal Investigations is working on the investigation. Agents questioned Bush for several hours before making the arrest, the release said.
A special initiative designed to prevent crimes against children was started in 2011 by DeWine called the Crimes Against Children Initiative.
