Thanksgiving is a week away, but you can start enjoying some quality time on the slopes at Snowshoe Mountain Resort beginning Wednesday.
The resort announced it will officially open for the 2012-2013 season for skiing and snowboarding in addition to the new winter zipline on Nov. 21.
Snowshoe officials credit the more than two feet of natural snow and excellent snow-making conditions for the early opportunity.
Superstorm Sandy didn't hurt things for the mountain state resort either. “If there could be a silver lining to the huge storm that impacted so many people in our region at the start of the month, it’s that our mountains, which experienced a warmer, shorter than normal winter last year, received over two feet of heavy snow with which to open our businesses and invite guests to our region,” said Frank DeBerry, President and COO of Snowshoe.
