West Virginia's program to strengthen sexual violence prevention and education is getting more than $150,000 in federal funds.
Sens. Jay Rockefeller and Joe Manchin announced the funding Tuesday for the program run by the West Virginia State Department of Health and Human Resources.
The federal Rape Prevention and Education program awards grants to states for initiatives in rape crisis centers, sexual assault coalitions, state health departments and other nonprofit organizations. The program is funded by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention's National Center for Injury Prevention and Control.
